Kampala, Uganda, 25 November 2020. Thrice Vice President of Uganda Volleyball Federation, head of Constitutional Review Committee, current coach of UCU Doves and Uganda National Volleyball men’s team Nason Bwesigye believes 5- things can change the course of Uganda’s volleyball in the next 4-years.
Uganda is set to hold and Elective AGM on 31st January 2021 at the Uganda Olympic committee Offices in Lugogo.
Here are Bwesigye’s thoughts for the new/incoming Volleyball leadership.
Well-tailored all-inclusive grassroots plan, just like the volleyball 1000 that was started on a few years back. It needed to be followed through and spread throughout the country.
Better management of the Federation activities, especially better communication like revival of the newsletter, timely feedback is important, need for office space and storage facility, full time office administrators and restructuring the Federation to put in place an open minded and focused CEO.
Sponsorships and Marketing.
Marketing of the sport, use of both electronic and print media but most of all aggressively push for a sponsor to get some of the Federation’s expenses toned down.
Better organized league, data management, better management of clubs and players, better competition especially the top flight teams
National teams, we need a standing National Teams in both genders and all age categories, with practice and competition schedules constantly. We need to have continuous feeders to the senior teams.
