Cairo, Egypt, November 21, 2019- Kenya’s Catherine Mabwi becomes the first woman ever to be nominated as Instructor in the history of African volleyball when she was nominated by the World Volleyball governing body “FIVB” as assistant in Level 1 coaches course in Eritrea.

Catherine was one of the most prominent outcomes from the training of the trainers project which produces young coaches instructors who will lead the development of the sport across the continent.

She was a Kenya National team star from 1991 to 1998 and played twice in the World Championships.
