Rabat, Morocco, February 7, 2021 – CAVB President Mrs. Bouchra HAJIJ highlighted the vision of the new CAVB administration to stir African volleyball on a new course during her inaugural presentation at the 37th FIVB online Congress on Sunday.
In a powerful and well-articulated speech which was well received by Congress delegates and receiving praise from the FIVB President Dr. Ary Graca, Mrs. Hajij emphasised that African volleyball could only reach new heights through scientific, transparent and innovative management. Her presentation narrated how the new administration would apply the SAB Model which entailed Studying the Past, Assessing the Present and Building the Future.
Mrs. Hajij said the success of volleyball in Africa would rest on ensuring proper governance and attention to 7 pillars namely, Administration and Finance, Training and Development of Technical Competence, Equipment and Sports facilities, Organisation of competitions, Promotion of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, Preparation of high level players and Diversiﬁcation of sources of ﬁnance.
The Congress being held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic is running from the 5th to the 7th of February 2021, has seen the election of a new FIVB Board of Administration, amendments to the constitution and rules of the game and adoption of the financial reports as well as presentation of the reports of the various Commissions, Confederations and FIVB Departments.
