Ndejje 3-1 KCCA (19-22, 25-22, 25-22, 28-26)
Luwero, Uganda, 29th April 2021. Faith Magolo was in a blistering block form to lead Ndejje Elites to a 3-1 (19-22, 25-22, 25-22, 28-26) win over a resilient KCCA Volleyball Club.
Elites defended a title they won last year against the same opposition.
The former UCU Lady Doves middle blocker had eight unanswered blocks as the battle of experience reigned on the day.
Veteran Christine Alupo, Maureen Muwamula and setter Jesca Khaidu combined well to frustrate KCCA in offense.
“The win will continue to inspire young players to grow in the game.” Said Christine Alupo who has won the Ndejje Open Championship five time.
Eunice Amuron and Margarete Namyalo also troubled Ndejje especially in the first and last set of the four set thriller.
“We are happy with the way the girls responded after dropping the first set, we will build on this going forward into the season.” Elites Coach Ronald Kitosi said.
Elites will now turn attention to the Aporu Okol International tournament, OBB International and KAVC Mem before the start of the 2021/2022 volleyball season in September.
“I am happy that you have honored this tournament, we are the home of sports and are always happy to host all sports disciplines, be careful with your health in this covid-19 season.” Vice Chancellor. Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo said at the closing ceremony.
