Cairo, Egypt, February 19, 2021- Organisers Egypt face RD Congo at the 2021 Men’s U21 African Club Championship opening on Saturday, while the opening day feature another tough face off between favourites Morocco and Cameroon.

Hany Abdelhamid, Egypt ‘head coach is optimistic to achieve good results in the African Championship.
“We started our preparation at the end of January with 22 players , we trained for 3 days at Olympic center. After five days we held a closed camp and decreased the number of players to 17 player.”
“The train during the camp two times a day with intense workout to compensate the short preparation, after that we played three matches with three senior teams.”
“All the team ; players ,staff and the Board of the federation have worked together to win the title and qualified to world championship.”
“I am very happy because my country manage to organize the tournament during the pandemic of Corona , and I am sure Egypt will succeed and organize fantastic tournament as well as the handball world cup.”

“Our team started the preparation for the tournament very late because the Sharp precautionary measures which has been taken by Moroccan authority but we are very ambitious and we want to qualify to the world championship this summer.”

“We came to Egypt and we participate in the tournament to win and qualify to the world championship . indeed ,our preparations were hurt by Corona virus pandemic but the other teams have the same conditions .
The Drawing of lots of the competition was done during the Technical Meeting of the competition in Cairo, Egypt on Friday
CAVB Control Committee headed by Vice-president Adnan Bakbak attended the meeting along with the Local Organising Committee presided by Dr Sameh Hamdy.
The competition will show 4 national teams playing in a round robin format to determine the champions of the 19th edition of the competition. Tunisia are the record holders with ten titles followed by Egypt 4, Algeria 3 and Morocco 1.
