Wakiso, Uganda, 9th February 2021. The management of Nkumba University Volleyball club have rung changes in the top hierarchy of the club.

Ex-Navy and current coach of the men’s team (NAVY) Moses Opio has be appointed Interim President/Chairman of the Club.

Moses Opio aka “Chairman” has been with Nkumba since 2009, won the National Club Championship and League title with the Entebbe road based entity.

Opio, a professional accountant is tasked with consolidating the club’s dream of a semi-professional set up.

Former Welfare and Assistant Coach Isaac Onyango has also been elevated to the General Manager’s role.

Onyango together with Opio will forge a way forward for a return to play at the club.

The changes were made to fill the void left behind by Chairman Godwin Ssennyondo and Manager Salma Kairungi Otika who took up new roles at the Uganda Volleyball Federation.

Ssennyondo is General Secretary while Otika is the 2nd Vice president.

Nkumba women are set to represent Uganda at the Women’s African Club Championship 2021.
