Kampala, 28th November 2019. 7-time league champions this afternoon took time off to honor their title holders KCB Bank Uganda with a Trophy presentation.
KCB Bank’s Managing Director, Edgar Byamah, received the trophy at the Banks headquarters along Kampala Road.
KCB Bank Uganda signed a one year renewable Title holder Agreement in July to give birth to KCB- Nkumba Volleyball Club.
The record National League winners have won every single final they played this season here in Uganda and in East Africa namely:
- Kabaka’s Birthday Volleyball Festival, Lugogo
- Kampala International University Open, Kansanga
- Aporu International Tournament, Kumi
- Genocide Memorial Tournament, Rwanda
- Nkumba Open Volleyball Tournament, Entebbe
- NSSF – KAVC International Tournament, Lugogo
- National Clubs Championship 2019, Lira
- National League 2019
“We feel proud because we have managed to win every final that we participated in this year. The KCB Bank sponsorship has done us a whole lot of good.” said Lakony Tonny Peter, Head Coach Nkumba University Volleyball Club.
A buoyant Edgar Byamah commemded KCB-Nkumba for the achievements so far.
“Following the team as it took strides over the years has been exciting for me. At KCB we strive to always put women in leadership and seeing all these trophies here is such a great statement of women leadership in sports.” Said Edgar Byamah, Managing Director KCB Bank.
Team is set to resume training in early January in preparation for the Africa Women’s Clubs Championship to be held in Tunisia where they earned the right to represent Uganda in the prestigious event.
