Cairo, Egypt, February 17, 2021- Sharp precautionary measures will be taken by Egyptian authority during the Men’s U21 Volleyball African Nations Championship due to start in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday February 20, 2021 against Covid-19 pandemic.
All participants in the competitions including the players, referees, officials will be subjected to analysis of Coronavirus to ensure a clean competition as was done during the 2021 Handball World championship organised in Egypt last month.
The participating teams will be scanned in airport upon arrival along with CAVB officials, while the Egyptian team and the whole local organisers will be under survey on Thursday.
The U21 Men’s African Championship will be the first volleyball event to be organised in Africa since 13 months, namely since the Men’s and women’s African Olympic Qualifiers in January 2020.
CAVB Board presided by Bouchra Hajij decided to resume African Volleyball activity by the the continental Age Group championships qualifying to the World championships.
