Kigali, Rwanda, 6th July 2020. As the world grapples with the Global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Containment efforts have been effective; however, an impending global recession means the economic impacts of the pandemic will continue to be felt.
In Rwanda, Coronavirus Cases are at 1,105, deaths at 3 and recovered cases at 567 as of 6th July 2020. The Government has relaxed locked down, but Sports especially Volleyball is still locked down.
We spoke to Rwanda International Vincent Dusabimana aka Gasongo on how he has been Surviving the Lock-down.
How do you spend your time during this lock-down period?
During the lockdown period I spend my time talking and enjoying my time with my family, then I exercise twice a day to keep up with the pace I had before lockdown.
Do you miss Volleyball?
Of course I miss volleyball, daily life, training, Teammates and the competitions.
How have you adjusted to life without Volleyball?
I can’t say that I have adjusted to Life without volleyball, but we have a common life threatening pandemic
Staying in one place for all this long, how have you handled it?
We have to observe regulations given by the government and the ministry of health.
Are you in touch with your teammates?
Yes, we talk often to plan for the forthcoming season
What plans for the new season?
In the next season we have to work hard to compete for the league title.
