In two years at NUVC, Otika has seen the transformation of NUVC into a regional force.

“We won all the eight (8) major tournaments we participated in, including two international tournaments.” Said Otika

According to the Uganda Volleyball Constitution, Otika’s work is well spelt out.

2.5.3 The 2nd Vice President:

2.5.3.1 Performs the duties of the 1st Vice President in his absence.

If elected, Otika will follow in the footsteps of Patricia Ahumuza, Hadija Namanda and Safina Nagayi who have held this post before.

For now, Otika is the sole aspirant for the post, the incumbent Patricia Ahumuza will not be available for re-election.

“I am giving opportunity to other people to take up the mantle, I have taken over other career roles that will take a lot of my time.” Said Patricia Ahumuza the incumbent.

It’s expected that Patricia Ahumuza will return to re build Espoir Volleyball Club, a club she has been part of, since inception.

Otika a full member of Espoir Volleyball Club, Uganda’s only strictly women’s team, will have to priorities on growing women’s volleyball in Uganda.

“ I pledge my full commitment to delivering on the responsibilities of the 2nd Vice President in working with the executive to give the leadership that the stakeholders deserve to take Uganda volleyball to greater heights.“ Otika Said

This is also not good news to the NUVC family, the record league champions will have to look for a new manager as the Uganda Volleyball constitution bars anyone one holding an executive role at the federation from holding another role at the premier clubs.
