Kampala, Uganda, 10th January 2021. There is lots of movement as volleyball elections draw closer.

Incumbent President, Hadija Namanda has taken her campaign to seek a second mandate to the Eastern region.

Namanda met a host of delegates from schools and clubs in the Eastern district of Kumi.

The Eastern region is home to one international tournament, Dr Aporu Okol Memorial Tournament and has been a nursery bed for most volleyball talents in the country.

Eastern region also run a vibrant regional league.

Namanda also took time off to create alliances that would see some delegates from the Eastern region contest for elective positions.

Challenger, Nasiwu Sadik spent the bigger part of the weekend in Mbarara.

Nasiwu is seeking a return to a Federation he last led 4-Years ago.

He too, met with delegates from schools and clubs playing in the Western Volleyball league.

Another challenger, Eddie Okilla launched a digital campaign with sequenced messages aimed at tapping votes from the delegates.

Okila is making a third attempt at the presidency having contested against Nasiwu (2013) and Namanda (2017)

Much as candidates are on the road, the UVF Executive is yet to make pronouncements on the formation of the Accreditation Committee.

All candidates for elective positions are required to submit a fully filed nomination form by 15th January 2021, the same day affiliates are required to submit the list of delegates to the General Assembly.
